This week’s meme comes from Calvin’s Canadian Cave of Coolness.
Another Meme About Me
1. Are you currently in a serious relationship?
I am currently involved in a number of relationships that I take seriously, the most important of which are my relationships with my four kids: #1Son, MattieBoo, Buddy, and, of course, Sophie. I also take my friendships, most of which are extremely long-term, very seriously. And my relationship with my employer is a very serious matter.
2. What was your dream growing up?
I dreamed of many things, most of which have come true: I have two fabulous kids who are extremely supportive of their mother; a career from which I derive tremendous satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment; and a life-long avocation as a dedicated musician which has taken me to many stages, the most important being Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 28, 2007, with a repeat performance upcoming on April 20.
3. What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I had just a little bit of artistic ability. I can’t even draw stick people successfully!
4. If I bought you a drink, what would it be?
A greyhound: Vodka and grapefruit juice.
5. What was the last book you read?
Wow, it’s been awhile since I did any reading for pleasure, I’m sorry to report. I think the last book I read purely for my own enjoyment was “The Audacity of Hope,” by President Barack Obama.
6. What zodiac sign are you?
Sagittarius on the cusp of Capricorn.
7. Any tattoos and/or piercings? Explain where.
Four piercings in each earlobe, but definitely no tattoos!
8. Worst habit?
I’m not telling!
9. What is your favorite sport?
As a participant, swimming or water aerobics is my favorite activity. I love to watch ice skating.
10. Do you have a pessimistic or optimistic attitude?
I am always optimistic. I simply refuse to believe that a situation is going to deteriorate . . . until I see incontrovertible evidence that it has.
11. Worst thing to ever happen to you?
That would have to be all of the medical challenges related to my eyes.
12. Tell me one weird fact about you.
In my family, the generations are separated by many years. For instance, my mother was 40 years old when I was born. Her father was born in 1875 which means that my grandfather was born in the same year in which the telephone was invented. When I was born, he was 81 years old and died at the age of 90. Obviously, I have few memories of him and never had the opportunity to interact meaningfully with or get to know him.
13. Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
Neither. I just think they’re creepy. My mother-in-law actually decorated one of the bathrooms in her home with a clown motif. I hated it.
14. If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
I would definitely lose weight and keep it off. That’s the hard part. I can lose weight easily, but I always seem to find it again.
15. Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
I would definitely be your conscience. And a very loud one, to boot.
16. Ever been arrested?
Of course not, but I do spend a lot of time “in” prison.
17. If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
Take my boys on a wonderful vacation.
18. What’s your favorite place to hang out at?
My lovely home. I really enjoy spending quiet, relaxing time right here in the beautiful home I purchased a little more than six months ago.
19. Do you believe in ghosts?
No, but I do believe strongly in a spiritual realm.
20. Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Make music.
21. Do you swear a lot?
I’m afraid so. It is an occupational hazard and one way that I vent and release stress.
22. Biggest pet peeve?
Dishonesty. I will not tolerate it in any form from anyone in either my personal or professional life. And once someone lies to me, I will never trust him/her again. Ever.
23. In one word, how would you describe yourself?
Tenacious.
24. Do you believe in/appreciate romance?
I used to. At this point, it is not part of my life and that’s just fine with me. With rare exceptions, romance does not last and it certainly takes far more than romance to sustain a relationship long-term.
25. Do you believe in God?
Yes, although I have difficulty with the word “God” and I long ago ceased conceptualizing “God” as a male deity such as a “heavenly father.”

I absolutely love water aerobics. I also started playing water polo in the deep end of the pool….after about 10 minutes you’ve burned a lot of calories.
I would have thought a musician could at least draw stick figures, being an artist of thoughts! I can’t do either!!
Haha. Until now, I don’t know why clowns are suppose to entertain us. When I was a kid, I had to muster up courage just to say hi to a clown my grandparents and I found in a carnival. They were like encouraging me to say hi and I had to convince myself that I should not find them creepy. Haha. I laugh whenever I recall those times.
I’m so un-artisic, too. But I can draw a pretty good stick person! LOL!
